Second Year Collaborating with LegisLAB Academy

We are pleased to continue our collaboration with LegisLAB Academy for the FIFA Football Agent Exam Preparation Course, contributing once again to the preparation of future football agents and sports law professionals.

Following last year’s successful participation, our office took part in the VI edition of the program, which brings together leading international sports lawyers and practitioners to provide practical insights into the regulatory framework governing international football.

The course focuses on the regulations established by FIFA, particularly the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP), which form the legal foundation of the international transfer system and are essential for agents representing players and negotiating transfers.

Training Compensation and Solidarity Mechanisms

During our session, particular attention was given to training compensation and solidarity mechanisms, two key pillars designed to protect and reward clubs involved in the development of young players.

These mechanisms play an essential role in the football transfer system by ensuring that clubs investing in youth development are financially compensated when players sign their first professional contract or are transferred internationally before the end of the season of their 23rd birthday.

The session explored several practical aspects of these rules, including:

  • The calculation of training compensation
  • The application of the solidarity mechanism in international transfers
  • The distribution of solidarity contributions among training clubs
  • Electronic Player Passport review process by FIFA Clearing House

Understanding these mechanisms is crucial for football agents, as they frequently arise in transfer negotiations and can have a significant financial impact on transactions.

Lecturers

The program also featured contributions from several experienced sports lawyers, including Paolo Marsilio, Michele Spadini, Sara Messina and among others.

Their contributions provided participants with valuable perspectives on the practical application of FIFA regulations and the evolving legal landscape of international football.

As the football industry continues to grow and evolve, the need for well-prepared and knowledgeable football agents becomes increasingly important. Educational initiatives such as the FIFA Football Agent Exam Preparation Course contribute significantly to raising professional standards within the football ecosystem.

We are proud to support initiatives that promote education, compliance, and professional development in football law, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with LegisLAB Academy in the future.
